“A Miracle Born of a Hero” event held in Kaliningrad for the second time

“A Miracle Born of a Hero” event held in Kaliningrad for the second time

On 15 July, the Kaliningrad City Children’s Polyclinic hosted a meeting with the wives of servicemen whose babies were born in 2026.

The event was attended by Anzhelika Maister, Deputy Chair of the Government of the Kaliningrad Region and Minister of Social Policy; Olga Gertsog, Deputy Minister of Health of the region; and Valentin Kunitsyn, founder and head of the autonomous non-profit organisation “Sharing Happiness” Family and Demography Support Centre.

At the meeting, the women shared their personal circumstances and their views on social support and the healthcare system, and made recommendations for improving state assistance. Anzhelika Maister took all the issues raised under her personal control.

Olga Gertsog noted that every healthcare organisation has a coordinator who works with the family of each serviceman: “It is important to us that every mother feels cared for and receives the medical, psychological and human support she needs. Meetings like this bring the authorities, the medical community and public organisations together around a common goal — the wellbeing of families.”

During the ceremonial part, the participants were presented with commemorative “A Miracle Born of a Hero” medals, “Born a Hero” family photo albums and certificates.

“This is the second time we have held this event in partnership with the government — it has become a good tradition. The first meeting took place in January this year. We implement our projects, including ‘Defenders’ Children’, in various regions of the country, from the Republic of Buryatia to the Kaliningrad Region,” said Valentin Kunitsyn, President of the “Sharing Happiness” Family and Demography Support Centre.

The event was held with the assistance of Babysmile Photography, which specialises in newborn photography.
