Breastfeeding support centre in Khimki: how the pilot project works

The pilot breastfeeding support centre, the “Young Mother’s Room”, has opened in Khimki, Moscow Region. It is a comfortable space inside a healthcare institution where a mother can feed her baby in peace, rest and get advice from a specialist.

The centre is equipped on a turnkey basis: the design project, furniture, equipment and information stands are funded by ANO “Sharing Happiness” and its partners, with no budget burden on the institution or the region. The standard budget for one centre is about $6,200.

Based on the pilot, a standard for the centre is being developed for possible roll-out to other regions.
